2026 BOYS FALL GOLF

August 10-12 — Official Tryouts – 6am start daily - Meet at Brown Deer lower level near putting green on back side of building. Tryouts will consist of between 4-9 holes each day, depending on skill level.  Students must provide their own golf bag and clubs. Done between 8-10:00am each day. Mandatory Attendance unless otherwise set up with Brian and Chris.  Initial cuts made after practice August 11. 

The first Varsity Meet is August 13 so we get into competition quickly! 

Once roster is trimmed, practice will be in the morning until school begins.

After school begins there will be practice Mon-Fri immediately after school at Brown Deer unless otherwise noted.  Practice will last approximately 2 hours each day – End at about 615p(515p Thu).  Qualifying days may run longer.

Students are on their own to get to practice each day.  Daily attendance at practice is mandatory  to remain on the roster. (Exceptions - illness, doctor appt etc..)   Varsity players will be provided with a team bag for meets with an option to buy once 3 Varsity meets are played.

Here is what needs to be done to be part of the Fall Golf Roster

• Play Golf -  As much as you can

• Practice - Basic short game practice is FREE - No excuses to not put in some time.

• Play Competitive Golf - There are literally hundreds of Junior Tournament all over the place.  iowapgajr.bluegolf.com is a great place to start finding events.  Tourney entry fees are fairly cheap and there are LOTS of options within 45 min.

• Attend Strength and Conditioning workouts over the summer - I am gathering more details for the days and times that best suit us and will pass along in the near future.

• Get your paperwork submitted to Bound AFTER JULY 1st when the school year switches.

• Attend tryouts for the teams August 10-12 - Our 1st meet is just 3 days after tryouts start!

The team will be formed based upon tryout scores as well as the players dedication to becoming a competitive golfer.  Tournament results will factor into the roster cuts for those that compete.

Depending on total players trying out for golf we will once again create practice squads and other opportunities for those that do not make the main 16 player roster  to have free instruction from the coaching staff to keep them involved.
